Christopher Scott Rowland

Christopher Scott Rowland, 58, of Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away on the 12th of July, 2025. He was the son of the late Carl C. Rowland and Patricia L. Rowland.

Christopher was born on October 13, 1967, in Milton, Florida. He attended Milton High School, and then pursued a higher education at Pensacola State College and the University of South Alabama where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology/Chemistry & Biomedical Sciences; he had a special desire to work for the CDC Foundation to find a cure for dementia because of his beloved Grandmother, Emily Stewart.

Chris then attended the University of West Florida where he completed his Master's Degree in Public Administration & Health Care Administration. After that, Chris obtained his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Liberty University School of Law, and set up his practice of Criminal Law in Lynchburg until the time of his passing. Christopher had a special interest in working with juveniles in the District Courts.

When Chris was not practicing law, he enjoyed cycling, sewing special bears for his family and friends, and building Auburn related items with lego bricks. He was an avid Auburn football fan, loved traveling to Italy with his dear friend Antonello Bucci, and caring for his loving dog, Ziggy.

Christopher is survived by his longtime partner, Sandy Jenelle Clark; his caring sisters, Rebecca Rowland Kibby and Kymberley Rowland Oshman (Robert along with David and Spencer Oshman); his nephew, Jason Miles Blades (Sarah) and niece, Amber Kibby Shipley (Michael); along with great-nephews/nieces, Taylor, Hollis, Dakota, Emily, Christian, and Michael.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to surrounding Animal Shelters and/or the Juvenile District Court.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg for Christopher's friends and the extended community.
