Christopher Joseph Cass, 63, of Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away on June 24, 2026, after a long battle with cancer.

Christopher was born on December 5, 1962, in Rosedale, New York, to Edmund Francis Cass, Jr. and Sarah Bernedette "Sally" Kovach Cass.

Christopher will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his love for animals, and his ability to lighten any mood with his quick wit.

He is survived by his devoted mother, Sarah Bernadette "Sally" Kovach Cass; his sisters, Donna C. White and her husband, Will, and Susan M. Koors and her husband, Joseph; his sister-in-law, Susan M. Cass; one nephew; several nieces; and a host of cousins and friends.

In addition to his father, Edmund Francis Cass, Jr., Christopher was preceded in death by his brother, Edmund Francis Cass III.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Tate Springs Health & Rehabilitation Center for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Christopher throughout his illness. They are also grateful for the many expressions of love, support, and prayers received during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lynchburg Humane Society.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 30th, at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 1st, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church at 12:00pm.
