The namesake “CHARLOTTE”, a derivative of the French masculine “CHARLES” is linked to many famous persons such as Queen Charlotte of England who was the wife of King George III, Princess Charlotte of Wales, the daughter of Prince William and Catherine and even American and British actresses, authors and songwriters. There is the city, Charlotte, NC, a book Charlottes Web, and even a dessert called a Charlotte.
We were blessed to have our own Charlotte, Charlotte Long Cunningham, born Charlotte Denise Long on October 15th, 1963, to parents Carolyn Farrow Long and James Henry Long Sr. in Lynchburg, VA. Until her untimely departure on February 26, 2026, she attended and graduated from Lynchburg Public Schools and furthered her career as a CNA practitioner at several facilities in the Lynchburg and Virginia Beach areas. She was formerly married to Randy Cunningham, lived life at her own pace and was an avid collector of anything Scooby Doo. When her sister Lisa would travel anywhere her request was always (bring me back a sexy dress).
She was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Brimm; father, James Long Sr.; and lifelong stepfather, Ralph Brimm Sr. She leaves behind to cherish her memory two daughters, Stacey Long and Rita Long; of Lynchburg, VA, two sisters, Lisa Anderson (Rhan) and Jennifer Scott (Kenney); three brothers, Ralph Brimm Jr, Michael Brimm, all of Lynchburg, VA. and James Long Jr. (Kimberly) of Largo Florida, two loving granddaughters, MyAngil Long and Jameah Long; of Lynchburg, VA one loving nephew, Christopher Brimm (Cynthia) of Radford, VA, one aunt, Evelyn Mitchell; along with two uncles, Howard Farrow and Stephen Farrow and a host of other relatives and friends
