Charles Keatts

Charles Keatts, 78, of Evington, VA passed away April 26th, 2026. He was the son of the late Elmer Roy Keatts and Lena Hudson Keatts.

Charles was born August 18th, 1947, in Lynchburg, VA. He attended school in Altavista, VA and had a long career with IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) along with his brothers Roy and Percy, which led to many interesting travels.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Ramsey, Roy, and Percy Keatts and Carrie Goad.

Charles is survived by his children, Kim Smith (Barry), Christie Wood, and Matthew Keatts and the joys of his life, his four grandsons, Luke Wood, Dillon Smith, Cody Smith (Kaleigh), and Declan Keatts; as well as the ones he also claimed as his own, Laci Johnson, Lisa Dennis, Michalle (Bryson), and Maverick Foutz. His beloved sister-in-law, Inez “Dimp” Keatts and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other friends, family, and beloved pets Molly and Lady.

He lived loud and unapologetically, doing things his own way, but was always the first one there for family, friends, or strangers when needed.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Campbell County Animal Shelter.

A memorial service will be held on April 30th, 2026, from 6-8PM at Tharp Funeral Home on Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, VA with a private scattering of ashes at a later time.
