Charles “Hackie” Gordon Hurt, 79, of Big Island, fell into his eternal rest on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
A funeral service celebrating Hackie’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg with interment at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. A fellowship celebrating Hackie will be held at 2220 Cobbs St., Lynchurg, Va. following the interment.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. Friends and family are welcome to visit at all other times at his daughter’s house, 2220 Cobbs Street, Lynchburg, Va.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
