Celeste Snow

Celeste Mary Snow, cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in Lynchburg, Virginia, at the age of 74. Born on July 18, 1951, in New Jersey, Celeste was the beloved daughter of the late Frank Hutchings and Julia Castillo Hutchings.

A remarkable woman of unwavering strength, Celeste bravely overcame breast cancer three times and courageously faced bone cancer from May 2024 until her passing. Throughout her journey, she remained a beacon of love and kindness to all who knew her.

Celeste’s warmth and generosity made her a beloved figure in her community, often recognized as the "neighborhood mom." Her kitchen was always filled with warmth and the comforting aromas of home-cooked meals, ensuring that everyone was cared for and cherished. Many of her daughter’s friends fondly called her their second mom, a testament to the boundless love she shared.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Crystal Hardy; her grandchildren, Edwin Litchford, Jr. and Zilly Snow; her two sisters and brother; her special friends, Christina Schetronpf, and Susan Matz and her son, Eric Howell. Celeste was also preceded in death by her son, Jay Singer, her grandsons, Zion Hardy and Ragnar Evans.

As we honor Celeste’s beautiful life and enduring legacy, her family invites those who wish to contribute here to help with funeral expenses, so they may celebrate her memory with the dignity and love she so richly deserves. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
