Catherine Elizabeth "Beth" Massie Martin

Catherine Elizabeth “Beth” Massie Martin, 100, of Lynchburg, Virginia, entered into the loving presence of her Lord on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

Born on December 11, 1925, Beth was the daughter of the late Robert Denver Massie, Sr. and Mae Gouyer Massie.

A devoted and lifelong member of Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian Church, she faithfully served within the REPC Ladies Circle, where she formed cherished friendships and poured her heart into ministry.

Beth is survived by her sons, Bob Martin (Ginger) and Rick Martin (Pam); her grandchildren, Scott Farrar (Sarah), Whitney Johnson (Greg), and Tori Connell (Jackson); and her loving and faithful caregiver, Jill Hostetter and her staff at Langford House.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Martin, Sr.; her daughter, Robin Elizabeth Martin; and her brother, Robert Denver Massie, Jr.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Tharp Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service.

In Beth’s memory, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
