Carolyn Jeannette Allen, 80, of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

Carolyn was born July 9, 1945, in Prince Edward County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Henry Clay Allen and Eleanor Covington Allen.

She is survived by her four daughters: Susan Tillman (Tony) of Stafford, Mary Shepherd of Lynchburg, Ellen Taylor of Evington, and Betty Kesler of Forest, a sister Cindy Allen of Lynchburg, two nieces, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and her beloved cat “Shortie”.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Roy E. Shepherd, Jr and her brother, John “Jay” Allen..

The family will hold a private memorial graveside at a later date.
