Carol Jean Trent Campbell, 78, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of those who cherished her. She was born on July 13, 1947, in Farmville, VA, to her parents, Philip and Carrie Trent.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Campbell; her brother, Marvin Trent; her grandson, Ethan Hodge; and her parents, Carrie and Philip Trent.
Her life was defined by devotion to her family, quiet strength, and a generous heart that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Carol spent many years working for Ace Hardware in the White’s Building Center in Keysville, VA. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, and caring for her beloved dogs.
She is survived by her son, Donald “Trent” Campbell (Shannon), and her daughter, Christal Campbell (Robert). She was blessed with a bonus son, Joseph Turner, and bonus grandchildren—Alexia, Bret, and Logan Hodge, as well as Devon Jordan and Trevor Winstead—each of whom brought her immense joy. She also leaves behind her lifelong friend, Joyce Newcomb, whose steadfast companionship was a treasured constant throughout Carol’s life, along with many cousins, and and many special friends.
Carol loved her family with all her heart. Her warmth, steady presence, and unwavering care will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those she held close.
We are at peace knowing she is spending eternity with Jesus, her Lord and Savior. Her memory will live on in the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the moments that will continue to bring comfort to her family and friends.
