Carl N Blankenship

Carl Nelson Blankenship, 70, of Bedford passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015. He was born in Christiansburg on June 27, 1945. A son of the late Beverly Smith Blankenship and Alice Virginia Epperly Blankenship.

Carl was a member of Timber Ridge Baptist Church where he served as a greeter for many years. He spent many hours behind the wheel as a truck driver and loved to give folks directions. Carl enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and also enjoyed going fishing, camping and loved to piddle.

Carl is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Blankenship; his three children, Jason Blankenship and his wife, Wendy of Thaxton, Ronda Mayberry of Monroe and Rodney Stanley of Mooresville, NC; five grandchildren, Crystal Andrews and her husband Devin of Mooresville, NC, Trevor Stanley of Statesville, NC, Cheyenne Coley of Monroe, Logan Blankenship of Thaxton and Brett Mayberry of Madison Heights; two brothers, Beverly Blankenship and his wife, Ruby and Don Blankenship all of Christiansburg; two sisters, Ila Blankenship of Christiansburg and Ruth Smiddy and her husband, Paul of Knoxville, TN.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Timber Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Philip Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery and there will be a reception to follow in the church fellowship hall.
