Brittany Ann Thomas

Brittany Ann Thomas, 13, of Bedford, died Monday, September 5, 2011 at her residence. She was born September 30, 1997 in Salem, VA, a daughter of Nikki Lynn Patsel Thomas and Matthew Foster Thomas.

Brittany was a student at Staunton River Middle School. She always wanted to visit Alaska, she loved all animals, playing video games, and spending time with friends and family.

Brittany was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Barbara Thomas. In addition to her parents, Brittany is survived by a brother, Bradley Thomas; maternal grandparents, Shirley and Rodney Patsel; paternal grandfather, Ed Thomas; aunts, Lisa Thomas and her husband, Robert Isaam of Roanoke and Ronda Garcia and her husband, Frank of New Mexico; five cousins; and two special four legged friends, Ruby and Charlie.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to their family and friends and their loving community in this most difficult time.

A celebration of Brittany\"™s life will be conducted at 12 noon, Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Chapel with Pastor James Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in Peaks Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM, Friday, September 9, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
