Brenda Carolyn Coleman Wiles

Brenda passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025, after a very long and courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 79.

She was surrounded by her loved ones at her home where she wanted to be.

Born on August 20, 1946, she was the daughter of Robert and Dessie Coleman.

The youngest of nine children, she grew up in the country, traveled with her kids, and was always happy to return home to her beloved house on the hill.

She married the love of her life, Monty Wiles, and is survived by their four children, Stacy Hudgins (Ashby), Amy Hauser (Fred), Chris Wiles (Monica), and Jonathan Wiles, as well as a host of nieces and nephews that she dearly loved.

She is also survived by her two brothers, Melvin Coleman (Norma) and Gene Coleman (Faye) as well as her sister, Barbara Burks.

She was a very proud nana of Matthew, Chelsea, Michael, Jeffrey, Caleigh, Miranda, Grayson, Gianna, JJ, and Maci.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, and three brothers.

She was an amazing wife, mother, aunt, and friend. She was a homemaker and ran the "koolaid house., where kids congregated and played for years. She loved having the neighborhood kids at her house.

She led a very full life and was the kindest of human beings. She loved her family and her friends.

The family wishes to thank the neighbors, friends, family, Centra Hospice nurses, and Dr. Mahmood Rasheed and his staff for their excellent care to our mom. You guys are amazing. We also thank Hunting Creek Baptist Church for the prayers and the many cards and visits. We extend our deepest appreciation to Lauren Hawkins, caregiver and friend. Your kindness to our mother will never be forgotten.

A celebration of Brenda's life will be held at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg on Sunday, December 7th, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will be on Sunset Hill in Big Island, following the service.
