Bonnie Simmons Knight

Bonnie Simmons Knight, 75, formerly of Madison, died on Friday, November 28, 2025.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Ellisboro Baptist Church Cemetery. A celebration of her life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, Virginia. The family will greet friends immediately following both services.

Bonnie was born on June 1, 1950, in Rockingham County. She was a member Thomas Road Baptist Church and the Bible Study Fellowship there. Her greatest joy in life was following her grandchildren to their many sporting events.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Clifford Knight; parents, John Ray Simmons and Elsie Goad Simmons; sister, Loid Annette Simmons and brother, Gary Ray Simmons.

Survivors include her son, Chris Knight (Christie); daughter, Erin Calhoun (Garth); grandsons, Will Knight (LeeAnne), Tyler Knight, Caleb Knight and Grady Calhoun; great-grandson, Tripp Knight; sisters, Linda Taylor (Roger) and Gaye Gann and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the Bible Study Fellowship at Thomas Road Baptist Church.
