Birlen Haynes Morris

Birlen entered this earthly realm on August 28, 1961. Without notice on Thursday, September 4, 2025, God dispatched angels from heaven to Birlen Morris earthly home to her eternal home in the sky.

Birlen was a hard-working, animal loving, good-hearted soul, who was motivated by her love and compassion for others. Her gift of compassion and patience was especially shown for the sick and infirmed. It allowed her to pursue various jobs in the health care field, which enabled her to meet many people and travel throughout Virginia and other states assisting the sick.

She would tell stories about her caregiving experiences that were so captivating and funny, you would be laughing uncontrollably.

Birlen accepted Christ at an early age and joined Piney Hill Baptist Church.

Birlen leaves to cherish her memories her devoted and loving parents, Sophie (Eugene) Douglas; two sons, Michael and Robert “Monty” Haynes of Amherst, VA; one sister, Sharon (Duke) Dole, of Norfolk, VA; one brother, Clint (Alethea) Douglas of Lynchburg, VA; 8 grandchildren; Antonio, Dakota, Jaylin, Markell, Tre, Keauna, Kayman and Collen; two great grandchildren; Oliver and Miloh, one niece, Tanaija Douglas and a host of relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Madison Heights located at 118 Commonwealth Dr, Madison Heights, VA 24572.
