Betty McConnell Thornton, 81, of Lynchburg, died on Thursday, March 3, 2011. She was the wife of Joseph Edley Thornton. Mrs. Thornton was born on May 21, 1929 in Benton, Illinois, a daughter of the late Otis and Prudence Golden McConnell. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
She was a retired teacher at Duquoin High School and Thornridge High School in Dalton.
A memorial service will be conducted on March 12, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in the Weissert Chapel at Westminister Canterbury with the Reverend Jeffery Liddy officiating.
