Betty Brodie Addison, 81, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026, at Westminster Canterbury in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Born in Newport News, Virginia, Betty was the daughter of the late Talmage and Alice Brodie.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leslie Addison; her son, David Addison; her grandson, Tyler Addison; and her brother, Sammy Brodie.
She is survived by her great-granddaughter, Sophie Snoda Addison; her sisters, Nancy Buchanan of Danville, Virginia, and Mary Daniels (Gary) of Richmond, Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her very special niece and nephew, David and Teresa Carter, whose devoted love, care, and support allowed Betty to remain at home for many years. Betty is also survived by her dear friend and caregiver, Hope Gillespie, whose kindness and companionship meant so much to her.
Betty was a faithful member of Brookhill Wesleyan Church, where her faith was an important part of her life.
Betty will be remembered with love by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will cherish the time they shared with her.
A visitation will be held Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel at Virginia Memorial Park, Forest, Va. Family and friends are invited to a reception following the service at the home of David and Teresa Carter.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice.
