Barbara Farthing

Barbara Ann Farthing of Campbell County, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Edward and Lillian McNichols Farthing of Danville, VA.

Barbara was retired from Kidds Services and was past employed by C.R. Hudgins and Hanson Porcelain. She enjoyed being outdoors, making wood-working projects, traveling, and bowling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester Leon Farthing, Joseph Edward Farthing, and one sister, Mary Ellen Tomb.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews; two dear friends, Sheila Campbell and Sharon Mclaughlin; Shelia’s daughter, Tracy and her daughters, Brittany, Amanda, and Faith.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. in Tree of Life Cemetery, Wards Road, Altavista, VA with Pastor Duane Gregory officiating.

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
