Barbara Peters Clements

Barbara Peters Clements, 77, of Madison Heights, Virginia, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Liberty Ridge Health & Rehabilitation in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Born on December 20, 1948, in Lynchburg, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late William Watts Peters and Phyllis Gaynelle Ashwell Peters.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael Zane Clements; her son, William Carson “Billy” Clements; her daughter, Kathryn Clements Lang; her parents, William Watts Peters and Phyllis Gaynelle Ashwell Peters; her brother, Glenn Peters; and her in-laws, Carson and Virginia Clements.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Clements Johnston and her husband, Michael, of Madison Heights; one sister, Brenda P. Hunt and her husband, Barry, of Madison Heights; two brothers, Ronald Ray Peters and his wife, Barbara, of Madison Heights, and Donald Ray Peters and his wife, Tonya, of Amherst; and her sister-in-law, Sterling Peters of Madison Heights.

She is also survived by four grandchildren, Mary Kathryn Johnston, Matthew Johnston (Hailey), Ashlynn Clements, and Joseph Clements (Jayna); her brother-in-law, the Rev. Kyle Glenn Clements and his wife, Marsha, of Orange; her sister-in-law, Kay Clements Jones of Lynchburg; and numerous other family members and friends.

Barbara was a member of Madison Heights Baptist Church.

A memorial service celebrating Barbara's life will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Madison Heights Baptist Church. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m., prior to the service.

The family respectfully requests no visitors at their home at this time.

Following cremation, Barbara's remains will be scattered in the Scatter Garden at Old City Cemetery in Lynchburg, Virginia.
