Ashley "Nikie" Key

Ashley “Nickie” Key, 38, of Johnson City, TN formerly of Evington passed away on August 1, 2025. She was born on September 2, 1986. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Harold and Helen Davenport and her Paternal Grandparents, Bernard “Bunny” and Ruby Dooley Key. Nickie was known for her love of helping others in any way possible. Her huge heart, her kindness and willingness to always lend a helping hand was so evident. Yet hardheaded and stubborn at times she was a wonderful person inside and out. After graduating from Rustburg High School she moved to Johnson City, TN to attend ETSU college and received her degree in Health Care Administration. She found a love for Johnson City and made it her home. Nickie also was a huge softball fan and loved watching and following Florida’s softball program. She also was an avid Alabama Football fan. In her free time, she enjoyed the outdoors while kayaking, hiking, working out, riding four wheelers and spending time with family and friends. While Nikie’s time on this earth was very short she was very loved and cherished by so many.

Nickie is survived by her loving parents Terry and Randi Key of Bedford, her brother and best friend, Travis Key and his girlfriend, Tiffany Mullins. Also surviving are numerous extended family such as aunts, uncles, cousins, especially one who was like a brother since their childhood, Jacoby Lipscomb and so many friends such as Steve and Marie Geist of Johnson City, TN.

A graveside service and celebration of Nickie’s life will be held at 2:30pm on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Suck Spring Baptist Church Cemetery with Austin Hull officiating.
