Antoine Johnson

Antoine G. Johnson, 64, of Lynchburg, Virginia passed away on April 17, 2026.

Antoine was born on July 14, 1961, in Lynchburg, Virginia to the late Othelia B. Johnson.

Antoine was baptized at White Rock Baptist Church at an early age. He was employed by Lynchburg Redevelopment and Housing Authority in the early 1980’s as a maintenance man. He enjoyed all sports, but in his youth, he played football, baseball, and loved to throw horseshoes. His biggest passion was playing tennis, ping pong, and listening to music.

Antoine is survived by his siblings, Dianne Booker, Garland Johnson (Juanita), Brian Johnson, and Kimberly Johnson; four nephews; two nieces; twelve great nieces; three great nephews; and many other loving friends from his Dearington community. Both of his brothers were devoted to him and Garland was his caretaker for many years.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 2:00 PM with Ed Hendricks officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior.
