Angela Dennise Peterson, 50, passed away on September 2, 2026, in Roanoke, Virginia. She was born on December 30, 1975, in Tacoma, Washington.
Angela built a life marked by learning, dedication, and a love of discovery. She worked as an accountant and, more recently, began teaching as an assistant professor at West Virginia University Institute of Technology in Beckley, West Virginia. Her commitment to education was reflected in her many academic achievements, including multiple degrees and a PhD in International Business. She brought both knowledge and experience to her work, and her transition into teaching reflected her desire to share what she had learned with others.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Angela had a deep love for international travel. France held a special place in her heart, and she returned there two or three times each year. She also taught herself and her children French, a reflection of both her determination and her enthusiasm for the places and cultures she cherished.
Angela will be remembered with love by her husband, Christopher Plucker. She is also survived by her daughter, Dennise Meyers, and husband, Justin; her son, Kyle Westland; her daughter, Emilie McCaskill; and her son, Kevin McCaskill. Her family was further blessed by her grandchildren, Lunah, Lylah, Lillian, and Londyn. She is also survived by her mother, Linda Louise Dunn Peterson, and by her brothers, Jerry Peterson and Leonard Peterson as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leon Dee Peterson and brother, Steven Eugene Peterson.
Angela Dennise Peterson will be remembered for her intellect, her perseverance, her love of travel, and the devotion she gave to her family and her work. Her memory will remain a lasting blessing to all who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held on September 9, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home - Bedford, 320 N Bridge St, Bedford, VA 24523.
