Amanda Booker Hunting

Amanda Booker Hunting ,97, of Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Nelson Booker and Celia Booker. Amanda was born on January 22, 1928, in Lynchburg, Va. She graduated from Dunbar High School, then attended for 2 years at Bennett College, in Greensboro, NC.

Amanda was a member of White Rock Baptist Church and enjoyed being with family and friends. Amanda is survived by her daughter Shirley Madison; Three granddaughters, great grandchildren, sister in laws, and numerous nieces, nephews.

In addition to her parents, Nelson and Celia, she was preceded in death by her, daughter Sharon Thomas, siblings, Sarah Ford, Arthur Booker, James Booker, Oscar Booker.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Tharp Funeral Home with Rev Ricke Hailstock officiating.
