Allen Cole Wood

Allen Cole Wood, 95, of Bedford, VA formerly of Richmond, VA passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024. Born in Richmond, VA on January 1, 1929, a son of the late Harry Lester Wood and Dorothy Pedrick Raper. Allen was also preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Mae Wood; and grandson, Matthew Johns.

 Allen is survived by his daughters, Jeanette Wilson (Jerry), Virginia Schaitel (Robert Graves), Christine Johns; grandchildren, Courtney Howell, Megan Schaitel, Jeffrey Wilson, (Suzanne), Elizabeth Tibbs (Josh), Darrell Kirby (Lynn), David Kirby, Christopher Johns (Megan), Eight Great-grandchildren, Three Great-Great-grandchildren; sister, Jeanette Hancock and numerous other family and friends.

A Funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 pm Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia 10300 Pridesville Road, Amelia, Virginia 23002 with Rev.
