Alfred Wendell Horsley

Alfred Wendell Horsley, 62, of Lynchburg, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. He was born November 21, 1963 to Lucille Horsley and Freddie McCray Sr. He departed this life peacefully on March 3, 2026 at Lynchburg General Hospital surrounded by his family.

Al attended E.C. Glass High School and was a cook at Roof Top#7 for years until his health began to decline. He loved to cookand took great pride in his work.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Johnson Horsley; mother Lucille Horsley; father Freddie McCray Sr.; sister, Irene Horsley and step-daughter Kameelah Law.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his step-daughter Jamilah Law; siblings Freddie Horsley, Brenda Horsley, James Rucker, Jesse Rucker, Carolyn Braxton, Donald Waugh, James, Mildred, David and Freddie McCray; a devoted aunt, Barbara McCray; cousin Wanda Thomas; devoted best friends Dwayne Johnson, Lewis Wilson and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

A celebration of Alfred's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at New Dearington Baptist Church.
