Allen, my heart goes out to you as well as your family and Lizzy and anyone else who has a saddened heart. Though I didn't know you that well, I remember seeing your bright smile almost every time I saw you. Even when we were young, you were a bright and happy child. As a young man, you still had a big smile, and even a bigger heart. You will be truly missed. You have touched the hearts of many lives around you, including my own. The times we did talk, I always walked away thinking about what a great person you were..

Allen was such a sweet young man. And so helpful to anyone that crossed his path. Such a good friend to all his friends. I remember when I worked at roadside a few years ago him would always come over with a big smile on his face and talking to everyone. I enjoyed his company. My prayers go out to his family and his girlfriend. Heaven has truly gained a special angel. You will be missed Allen.

  • Tuesday, October 09 2012

Allen was among my first students when I came to Montvale. We formed a bond that I will never forget. His kind spirit and humor brightened my day. Stories of shooting on his team, repairing vehicles and love of the outdoors were plentiful. He always had a kind smile and wave at the end of his driveway as I passed on my way home even years after leaving our school. As a teacher we hope to touch our students lives in some meaningful way, but sometimes students touch ours even more. For me, Allen was one of those students.
My prayers are with your family during this time.

I wish I knew the words to help lighten your hearts. Life is so difficult to understand at times. Place your worries and heavy heart on the shoulders of our Lord and take one day at a time. Allen will always hold a special place in my memories as a student who won my heart with his honesty and his smile.

Losing your son in a car wreck, losing your brother in a car wreck, losing your boyfriend in a car wreck.... no one dreams of it. I am not gonna tell you I know how you feel, I didn`t lose my son, my parents did, and maybe Matt I know a little bit of what you are feeling because I lost my brother & my best friend has tried to explain to me what it was like for her the night her boyfriend died in a car wreck. This seems to be God way, I know it is all a part of his plan that we may never understand. When I hear about Allen`s death, memories of Montvale Elementary School flooded my mind, happy children singing, enjoying life & learning when I made them. But most of all I was able to witness the children of Montvale creating their own loving community where they share the good times & lean on each other in the hard times. Montvale will always feel like home for me & even though I hadn't seen Allen in a few years, since I moved to Haiti I can still closes my eyes and see his face... the best part, I see no pain on his face, just that smile!

I've had the pleasure of knowing you since you were a little boy. You had Reathy carrying your book bag in 1st grade. Even tho Reathy and you were so different you had a way to embrace her Good and Bad days. You spoke your mind and even tho we didn't understand it at first we learned to accept that that was just your personality. As you grew older you we watched you become a wonderful and talented young man. We would always look for you when we were at the Roadside Mkt. just so we could wave (so you'd know there were no hard feelings). You were one of a kind Allen Dickenson and boy is God gonna have a good time with you. Our hearts feel heavy right now but I know my last memory of you (when you offered me $400 for my shined up car) will be something that will make me giggle whenever I think of you.

From the first day you graced us with your chucky cheese smile you had us! The ladies at Montvale Elementary School cafeteria will miss you!! We called you a "Little Old Man".. Dressed in big boots and camo gear ready for work everyday with the YES Ma'am attitude. You filled our snack carts in the morning and helped us with big boxes when you got older. Always there to please and delight us with your funny talk and wisdom. We watched you grow up and change over the years. We too went through your bad days and cryed with you on the sad days and was tinkled pink on the good ones. You were always there breakfast, lunch and sometimes in between maybe just to say "Hey I'm doing okay, I haven't got in trouble so far today." You had the smile that would make your whole face light up. My friend you will be deeply missed!! We love you! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to know you! Good Bye my "Little Old man".
Your Cafeteria Ladies! Jenny, Trish, Cathy, Jan and Robin.

Allen, the fact that you're gone can't seem to be stuck in my mind. We weren't great friends, but you always knew how to make people smile abd laugh when they were down. Just know, that everyone is supporting you. You're in a better place buddy. Words can't even express as to how this has effected all of us students at LHS.
