Margaret Marie O'Hara

Margaret Marie O’Hara, 74, of Rustburg died Tuesday May 15, 2012. She was the loving wife of James Edward O’Hara.

Marie was born August 1, 1937 in County Cork, Ireland and then pursued a career in nursing. She met her husband, James, in Africa. The family then settled down in Virginia and Marie became a U.S. Citizen. Marie was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She had many interests and was an avid reader, gardener, animal lover, fan of NASCAR, family trips, shopping, crocheting, and enjoyed watching television, specifically Fox News. Marie will be remembered in our hearts forever as the kind and dedicated woman that she was.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her three children: James O’Hara of LA; Major Eleanor Marie Gonzalez, USAF and her husband Chief Warrant Officer Gabriel, USA of TX; and Noelle Elizabeth O’Donnell and her husband David James of VA, three grandchildren: Shannon Marie and Stephen Andrew O’Donnell both of VA; and Ian Guthrie Moss of TN, (to whom she was known as “Nana”) and one brother Berti Roche of Cork, Ireland. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son Michael Patrick O’Hara.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 19, 2012 at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery with Msgr. J. Kenneth Rush officiating.
